Sanquin
BCSI has a product development contract with Sanquin Blood Supply Foundation (Stichting Sanquin Bloedvoorziening), the Netherlands’ largest blood services organization. Sanquin is currently conducting trials with the BCSI pH Monitoring System in support of product registration in Europe and Canada.
The trials of BCSI’s pH Monitoring System are being conducted by principal investigators Dr. A.J. Verhoeven, head of Sanquin Department of Transfusion Technology, and Dr. D. de Korte, head of the Laboratory for Blood Tranfusion Technology, who are among the world's premier platelet experts.
Sanquin, a Dutch non-profit organization, is comprised of the divisions Sanquin Research, Sanquin Plasma Products, Sanquin Diagnostic Services and four blood banks. It has development and supply agreements with several of the world’s largest suppliers of platelet products and is well respected within the European and U.S. regulatory and scientific communities. The organization was founded 60 years ago and currently employs 3,000 people.
Sanquin Research is involved in basic and applied scientific research, training and education. The research departments support the Sanquin objectives regarding a safe and sufficient blood supply of the highest quality. Accordingly, Sanquin Research provides a scientific foundation for the products and services of Sanquin’s divisions and the business units Sanquin Pharmaceutical Services and Sanquin Reagents. Sanquin supplies and distributes throughout Benelux and Northern Europe.
