BCSI has developed an innovative system that can extract nucleic acid more efficiently than current systems.  The features of that system lead to dramatic customer benefits (faster, cheaper and more reliable) methods of diagnosing viral diseases, such as flu, that will have major societal benefits to the healthcare system and the health and well being of the population.  

BCSI's flat glass platform allows for:

• Extracting the NA from a wide variety of sample types, including samples with high concentrations of impurities.
• Saving technician time by allowing the lab to know if there is enough NA present to expect an answer (clear glass).
• Storage of NA for future further diagnostic and follow-up use  and testing. (closed card).
• Facilitating  sample tracking, saving the laboratory money (shape-footprint).
• Flat glass extraction also enables evaluating a wide variety of sample types, including samples with high concentrations of impurities and low concentration.
• Elimination of some cumbersome lab procedures such as centrifugation (pump and syringe process).
